NBC News used the fake Zimmerman 911 audio tape for 8 days

There has still been no on-air apology or correction of this extreme example of creating a fake story, editing audio tape to give the impression that Zimmerman was following Trayvon because he was black, when actually, he was answering a question about race from the 911 dispatcher.

NBC Nightly News, 3/19 (Pete Williams reporting):
Clip of GEORGE ZIMMERMAN: This guy looks like he's up to no good or he's on drugs or something. He's got his hand in his waistband, and he's a black male.

NBC Today, 3/20; 7am and again at 9am
Both reported by Lilia Luciano

NBC Today, 3/22 (Lilia Luciano reporting):
ZIMMERMAN: “This guy looks like he's up to no good... He looks black.”

NBC Today, 3/27 (Ron Allen reporting):
ZIMMERMAN: “This guy looks like he's up to no good... He looks black.”

HERE IS THE ACTUAL AUDIO TRANSCRIPT

The network (NBC) finally admitted it had "accidentally" edited out a key part of the conversation (played on different News shows for 8 days as the internet was railing at them) which actually went

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he's up to no good. Or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about."

Dispatcher: Okay, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?

Zimmerman: He looks black.
