Good News: Texas, Florida, North Carolina Pursue Pro-Life Laws

Key pro-life provisions will take effect in Texas as soon as Republican Gov. Rick Perry signs HB 15, which he has promised to do. The legislation would require an ultrasound, or sonogram, 24 hours before an abortion and allow a woman to see the images and hear the baby’s heartbeat. A woman also would hear a description of her developing baby. “Ensuring Texans have access to all the information when making such an important decision is a critical step in our efforts to protect life,” Perry said.
