If you click onto these photos you can see the larger version, this is supposed to be the UN building in Gaza after an Israeli attack and it probably is, but what ever fire was happening is long over, the fireman in the photo has already taken off his gear like his helmet and is wetting down the embers, most of us have seen the aftermath of fires like this, it is boring and there is nothing to see.
Mahmud Hams is famous for staging photos though and sure enough in this drab, post event photo, lo and behold there is a bright, immaculately clean, terrified Arab appearing woman fleeing the horror of this brutal attack by the Jews. Without that incongruous woman in the middle of the photo, it would look like a picture that I would take of the mop up actions after the main fire department had left the site hours before, that is steam you see there (not smoke), look how old and dead the stuff to her right is, so where is this woman fleeing from and fleeing to, where is the drama? WM
